Rukayat is a seasoned young journalist and grassroot mobilizer who led the news department of popular Kwara-based online media – Just Event Online, where she produced the ‘Women Hour’ show. She has a degree in Mass Communications from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) where she served as the first female president of NOUN. She has a diploma certificate in Mass Communication and Islamic Studies from Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies.

She is a member of a leading pro-democracy group, Kwara Must Change. She is the only female and the youngest candidate in her constituency. She exudes a passion and commitment for Nigeria that’s contagious and challenging to every good-willed Nigerian.

“I am a village girl, I know what our people need. I know the nine wards in my constituency, the 500+ villages, I have done my survey… this will guide me when I become their representative.”
